About The ACTNow Waste Network What is the ACTNow Waste Network? The ACTNow Waste Network is an initiative run by the Conservation Council ACT Region. The Network was launched on 30 April 2009 by Mr Simon Corbell MLA, the Minister for the Environment, Water and Climate Change, Minister for Energy. The Network facilitates information sharing and encourages improved waste management (i.e. waste reduction, recycling and composting) in ACT commercial and business operations. It is a diverse network of businesses, offices, institutions and community groups covering a range of workplaces. ACTNow Waste Network members are actively demonstrating commitment to improving their waste management. Network members have reduced their waste to landfill through more efficient practices and establishing recycling and/or composting within their operations. Be inspired by what Network members are doing! Who can join the Network? The Network consists of individuals, businesses and offices that are currently doing things to improve their waste management through waste reduction, recycling and/or composting. The ACTNow Waste Network is also for those who are interested in beginning the process of improving their waste management.
How does the ACTNow Waste Network work?In exchange for sharing waste management experience with the Network, members receive public recognition and media promotion of their efforts via the Conservation Council Website, e-bulletin, newsletter and project media releases.
Are there any upcoming ACTNow Waste Network events?Mid-year Network networking: This event will focus on information sharing and ideas for improving waste management in the ACT commercial and business sector.
