Campaign Updates

1. NSW Election

Environment groups call on all parties to take urgent action for the NSW environment in five critical areas. They will update the Enviro-Meter daily to track the latest environment announcements and rate how the parties are performing. For more information visit the Environment Election Website

2. Water Policy

The Conservation Council convened a Water sub-committee meeting last week to discuss the emerging issue of recycling water for potable use in Canberra. The Conservation Council does not have a current policy on this issue but we are very keen to see an informed debate in the Canberra community. We will be producing a fact sheet discussing major issues of interest to the public with regard to recycling water for drinking, the fact sheet will be placed on our website once finalised. We will also be organising some information/briefing sessions. Stay tuned.

Please note the Conservation Council is moving on Monday 26th March to 3 Childers Street Acton (next door to the Street Theatre). We also have a new postal address GPO Box 544 Canberra ACT 2601.
